Our history
The Studio is based in Rome and near the city of Salerno. In the mid-1990’s, the Studio was founded by a group of tight-knit researchers. Together, they created & cultivated the first Italian community dedicated to genealogical research.
Driven by passion & genealogical expertise, the Studio began to connect families across Italy with their ancestral roots. In 2013, the Studio took a significant step forward and founded the ‘Association of Professional Genealogists’ with the goal of further promoting the genealogy and the memory of our ancestors. This led to increased interest, exponential growth & a high demand for our services.
Today, we continue to provide genealogical consulting to the many people curious about their family background. “Our greatest mission today, is connecting the present with the past.”
The team
Our team consists of a strong network of researchers spanning across Italy. An effectively distributed network allows for all requirements to be suitably met, providing accurate answers to specific questions. At a national level, the team is coordinated by our Co-Founder, Marcello Intotero Falcone, and our Secretary, Lorenzo Cirelli.
Marcello Intotero Falcone
Founder of “Studio Araldico Genealogico Italiano” and Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) in the United States. Falcone was a genealogical scholar focusing on Heraldry and Auxiliary Science of History. He also is the author of various essays surrounding genealogy.
Falcone’s interest in genealogy began nearly 30 years ago as he started to build out the family tree of his own family at the Diocesan Archive of Policastro and at the State Archive of Salerno and Naples.
Lorenzo Cirelli
Lorenzo has always been passionate about genealogy. In 2013 he joined “Studio Araldico Genealogico Italiano” as Secretary. Leveraging the skills he’s cultivated in the genealogical field, Cirelli has carried out multitudes of research, published various genealogical publications and contributed strongly to the growth of our organization.
Since 2011 he’s been managing the Facebook page, “Origine dei cognomi Italiani” (the origin of Italian surnames). This page is the first and only group dedicated to onomastics and has a community of over 56,000 followers.
